Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR Training

Dr. James is a BLS instructor offering training to those interested in receiving a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Training for BLS includes learning the fundamentals of CPR, using an AED device, as well as methods to assist an individual choking or that has overdosed. Upon completion of our BLS training you will receive an American Heart Association (AHA) Card that remains active for two years before renewal will be needed.

Who should take a BLS course?

Anyone who wants to be able to help someone in an emergency should take a BLS course. This includes healthcare professionals, firefighters, police officers, teachers, and daycare providers. It is also a good idea for people who work with the elderly or people with chronic health conditions.

What will I learn in a BLS course?

In a BLS course, you will learn how to perform CPR on adults, children, and infants. You will also learn how to use an AED. In addition you will be trained to respond to an individual choking or suffering from complications of an overdose.

How long is a BLS course?

A BLS course typically takes about 4 hours to complete including testing.

How much does a BLS course cost?

  • For groups with 5+ individuals, the BLS Certification program cost is $70 per person.
